Moms...

Okay, it’s time to talk about the one thing every teenage girl can understand and agree on, moms. You and I both know that moms can be a real pain in our butts, with the silliest rules, not understanding simple technology, and the worst yet... not closing the door after leaving your room. Moms make the worst-case scenario situations out of anything and everything you tell them about your day. We bite our tongues with attitudes and hold our eye rolls for when she turns around but somehow, she always knows that you did it.

Even though we could find 100 reasons why moms make us cringe, we could find 101 reasons why we need her. You know in the morning when you can’t find your favorite sweater that you knew you had hanging in you closet? You’ve looked 43 times, but you can’t seem to find it, so you go and ask your mom if she’s seen it and within one second of looking, she has it in her hands telling you that you’re blind. As annoying as this might be, moms really are like super heroes. With their super find-it skills, eyes on the back of their head, and future telling skills, moms are here for a reason.

As hard as it may be to admit, moms do seem to always be right. Anytime I don't take my moms advice on something, I always look back and wish I had. Moms are placed in our lives to guide us, so why do we always argue and fight the guidance when we know very well that our struggles aren’t unique, and chances are that your mom has been there and can give you a simple solution.

Let’s take a moment to agree to stepping back from situations where your mom is making you frustrated and think “maybe she has a point” or even “okay, i'll try that”. Moms really do know best, let’s let them do their job.

The older I grow, the more I realize, my mom is the best friend I’ve ever had.
